Outback Flexmax 100 – 100A, 300VDC MPPT Charge Controller
Maximum Power Point Tracking can boost solar current up to 30% over a PWM type controller in very cold weather with very low battery voltage.
Multi-stage charging: Bulk, Absorption, Float, and Equalize. Charger can handle up to 100 amps of DC output current to charge batteries at 24 or 48, volts DC.
Solar input equal to 64 amps of charging is the maximum recommended for the FM100.
PV array can be wired at higher voltage to charge lower voltage battery bank. Charging a 24 volt battery with a 48 volt PV array and reduce wire size and power loss, while increasing the distance possible from the PV array to battery.
Terminals accept up to 4 gauge wire.
This version of the FM100 includes AFCI, ground fault protection, RSD compatiblilty and NEMA 3R rating.
Outback MATE3S system controller, a required accessory, connects to the FM100 as a remote control. MATE3S can also program and remote control Outback inverters, from a location 300 feet distant. MATE3S includes network interface for data logging.
Unit has a built in 12 volt auxiliary output to turn on and off the battery vent fan and other loads.
Built in 128 day data logging is very useful for tracking what the battery bank and solar array has been doing each day.
