The IOTA IQ4 LiFePO4 Smart Charge Controller is an accessory for compatible IOTA DLS Series battery chargers sold by Backwoods Solar.
The IQ4 LiFePO4 is designed for LiFePO4 battery banks equipped with a Battery Management System (BMS). It allows a compatible IOTA DLS charger to provide the charging voltage required for 4-cell LiFePO4 batteries and then remain in a standby monitoring mode until another bulk charge is needed.
The controller plugs directly into the Dual Voltage Jack on a compatible IOTA DLS Battery Charger. Once connected, the IQ Smart Charge circuitry is automatically engaged and the charger begins using the LiFePO4-specific charging profile.
The Bulk stage charges the battery at an optimized, controlled output to reduce charging time.
Once the battery is fully charged, the charger remains in the Float stage and monitors the battery for a drop in voltage.
If the battery remains in the Float stage for 15 days, the IQ4 LiFePO4 automatically initiates another bulk-charging cycle to help keep the battery fully charged.

If the internal voltage setpoints on your IOTA DLS Battery Charger have previously been adjusted, contact Backwoods Solar before installing the IQ4 LiFePO4.
The charger may need to be adjusted to prevent excessive charging voltage. Incorrect voltage settings may overcharge and damage the battery bank.
