The IOTA IQ4 AGM Smart Charge Controller is an accessory for compatible IOTA DLS Series battery chargers sold by Backwoods Solar.
The IQ4 AGM is designed specifically for AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries and provides an optimized charging profile with Bulk/Finish, Float, and Maintenance stages.
The controller plugs directly into the Dual Voltage Jack on a compatible IOTA DLS Battery Charger. Once connected, the IQ Smart Charge circuitry is automatically engaged and the charger begins using the AGM-specific charging profile.
The Bulk/Finish stage charges the battery at the optimal output to reduce charging time, then holds the charging voltage for a predetermined finishing period.
Once the battery is fully charged, the Float stage maintains the battery at full charge while helping reduce the chance of excessive gassing.
If the battery remains in the Float stage for seven days, the IQ4 AGM automatically initiates another bulk-charging cycle to help keep the battery fully charged.
Designed for AGM Batteries: Provides a charging profile optimized for Absorbed Glass Mat battery banks.
Automatic Multi-Stage Charging: Controls Bulk/Finish, Float, and Maintenance charging stages automatically.
Simple Installation: Plugs directly into the Dual Voltage Jack on compatible IOTA DLS battery chargers.
Automatic Activation: IQ Smart Charge circuitry engages automatically when the controller is connected.
Float Maintenance: Maintains a fully charged battery while helping reduce excessive gassing.
Automatic Maintenance Cycle: Reinitiates a bulk charge after seven days in Float mode.
If the internal voltage setpoints on your IOTA DLS Battery Charger have previously been adjusted, contact Backwoods Solar before installing the IQ4 AGM.
The charger may need to be adjusted to prevent excessive charging voltage. Incorrect voltage settings may overcharge and damage the battery bank.
