The Flowlight Model 2920 Standard-Speed Pressure Pump is a rotary vane pressure pump designed for efficient, reliable use in off-grid and battery-based water systems.
Compared with conventional AC pressure pumps, it uses approximately one-third to one-half the energy and avoids the high starting surges that can push inverters to their limits.
The Model 2920 is available in 12V, 24V, or 48V DC, as well as 115V AC. It is designed for use with battery banks or an AC power source and is not intended for direct solar operation.
These pumps are more powerful, quieter, and significantly more durable than lower-cost diaphragm pumps. Wearing parts are replaceable and typically last 5 to 10 years, while the pump itself has an expected service life of approximately 15 to 20 years.
For full-time off-grid residences, the Flowlight pump is an excellent choice for pressurizing a household water system. A large pressure tank of at least 40 gallons is required and can usually be sourced locally.
Because rotary vane pumps can produce noticeable operating noise, we recommend installing the pump in an outdoor pump house with the pressure tank rather than inside the home.

A Dry Run Switch is highly recommended if there is any possibility that the water source could run dry.
Do not allow this pump to run dry. Running the pump without water can cause serious damage. The Dry Run Switch may be added at any time.
