The most recent addition to our Eclipse Battery lineup is the new 12V 100Ah sodium-ion battery. Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) offer many advantages over other battery chemistries. Sodium is plentiful and widely available, does not rely on foreign sources for production, is easier on the environment, offers greater stability than many other battery chemistries, and is far less likely to experience thermal runaway.
In addition, sodium-ion batteries are more tolerant of cold weather than LiFePO4 batteries and are IP65-rated for weather resistance. This provides greater flexibility when designing and installing battery systems in wet or colder environments. Our sodium-ion batteries can also be shipped via UPS, making delivery more convenient.
Sodium-ion battery technology has the potential to significantly reduce the cost of energy storage for off-grid, grid-tied, and mobile/marine systems, especially in colder climates. Eclipse set the standard for LiFePO4 drop-in batteries and has now raised the bar with its newest energy storage system.
